Dievole Novecento Chianti Classico Riserva 2019 from Dievole in Chianti Classico is a seriously classy Sangiovese, opening with ripe cherry, plum and blackcurrant wrapped in violet, dried herbs, tobacco and a whisper of sweet spice and vanilla from its large, untoasted French oak ageing. On the palate it’s full‑bodied yet superbly balanced, with juicy red and black fruits, hints of blackberry, licorice and pepper, firm but fine‑grained tannins and refreshing acidity driving a long, mineral and slightly savoury finish.
