Greywacke Pinot Noir 2023 from Marlborough is a deeply scented, quietly powerful pinot that layers dark cherry and blackcurrant with spice, smoke and the region’s stony, Southern Valleys character. Aromas of spiced blackcurrant, dark cherry, violet, dried herbs, hay and barrel smoke roll into notes of kola nut, licorice and clove. The palate is medium‑bodied but dense and generous, with crushed berries, plum, subtle tobacco, polished tannins and a long, seamless, savoury finish.
