Longview Macclesfield Syrah 2021/2022, made by Peter & Mark Saturno in Macclesfield, Adelaide Hills, is a stellar cool-climate Syrah that balances perfume, power and precision. The aromatics are intensely floral - jonquils, jasmine and carnation - overlaying blue and dark berry fruits, white pepper and aniseed. On the palate it is layered and medium-bodied, with taut berry fruit, crunchy acidity, fine chalky tannins and a lingering mineral undercurrent.
