The Montalto Estate Chardonnay 2023 from Mornington Peninsula, overseen by Chief Winemaker Simon Black, is a stylish cool-climate rendition. Whole-bunch pressed and wild-yeast fermented, it was aged 11 months in French oak (26 % new). Aromas of barley, ginger spice, pear and subtle hazelnut lead into a layered palate of white stonefruit, melon and satsuma, all underpinned by citrus-driven acidity.
