Montefili Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2017 (Vecchie Terre di Montefili, Greve in Chianti) is a serious, site‑driven Sangiovese that leans firmly savoury, with structure and tension built for ageing. It’s very much a classic, old‑school Greve expression rather than a soft, modern fruit bomb. The 2017 Gran Selezione is 100% Sangiovese from the estate’s best, high‑sited vineyards, dark ruby in colour with explosive aromatics of small ripe berries, rose petals, lavender and thyme, plus earth, dried herbs and subtle blood‑ and nut‑like notes.
