Mordrelle ‘Three Clone blend’ Syrah 2016 from the Adelaide Hills is a terrific example of cool-climate Shiraz/Syrah, showing plenty of flavour without losing that lifted, aromatic elegance the region is famous for. In the glass, this 2016 Syrah ‘Three Clone blend’ offers bright cherry and red berry fruit with pretty rose-petal perfume, layered over black pepper, cedar shavings and clove spice. It’s drinking beautifully now, but still has the structure to handle a few more years in the cellar if you like your Syrah a bit more savoury and resolved.
