Picardy Merlot Cabernets 2019 from Pemberton is a beautifully poised Bordeaux‑inspired blend, with ripe plum, red and blackcurrant, a little cherry and a gentle licorice and cedar lift giving a really inviting nose. It’s medium‑bodied, elegant and finely structured rather than heavy, showing that cool‑climate Pemberton shape. On the palate, supple merlot fruit leads, wrapped in fine‑grained tannins, low pH freshness and subtle French oak that adds spice and polish without dominating.
