Maturation occurred on light lees in several vessels, including steel vats, seasoned, thick-staved 600L demi-muids and an additional stint in 2,500L foudre. A typically evocative example of a Grenache that values freshness rather than power, this is energetic and lively with aromas and flavours of red ripe summer berries, earthy spice and sweet blue florals, egged on by refreshing acidity and a gentle nip of tannin. I’m in the former camp, and this wine plays that angle beautifully.
