This Sunshine Creek Shiraz 2012 is sourced from Ian Rathjen’s Heathcote vineyard, hand‑picked and matured in French oak for 15 months with around 30% new barriques, giving complexity without overpowering the fruit. On the nose it shows dark maroon‑tinged colour and a surprisingly elegant profile for Heathcote, with choc‑mint, blackcurrant and a touch of briar and earth, edged by subtle oak spice rather than vanilla‑bomb sweetness.
