Victoria’s Yarra Valley is a beautifully poised cool-climate red, drawn from a small volcanic-soil patch within the estate that gives the wine its vibrant colour, lifted perfume and wonderfully fine, understated structure. In the glass, Thousand Candles Single Vineyard Syrah 2021 shows blueberry, black cherry and cherry plum with hints of black pepper, violet, creamy vanilla and gentle spice-and-nut complexity, unfolding slowly into a silky, medium-bodied palate with soft, powdery tannins and a long, savoury, spice-laced finish.
