Yangarra King’s Wood Shiraz 2022. Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale is a single-block, biodynamic Shiraz off southeast-facing Block 12, matured in large French. Austrian foudres for a beautifully Rhône-like, finely sculpted expression. In the glass you’ll see deep, bright red-purple, with aromas of blackberry pastille, blueberry, plum, grilled meats, lilac, lavender, cloves, cocoa powder, terracotta earth and star anise. The palate is full but poised, plush dark fruits wrapped in filigree, front-to-back tannins, cool-year freshness and a long, ironstone-and-spice finish that feels almost ethereal despite the wine’s intensity.
